J4 LEAGUE FINAL
Clontarf v Terenure – Sat 22nd March 3pm at Castle Avenue.
On Saturday next Clontarf Junior Rugby (J4) Team take on Terenure RFC in the final of the Leinster Metro League. How did they get there? Fourteen games, twelve wins, two loses, fifty three tries for, thirteen tries against & fifty match points put ‘Tarf at the top of the league. From that they earn a home final against Terenure RFC who finished in second place (with a fairly impressive record themselves).
Reposting this message from one of Clontarf’s J4s – says it all!
“This is a message to all J4s. The tour is done. We have a final next week so lets get our heads sorted for it! I can’t make training this week because of work & I apologise for that but I expect everyone running the weekend out of them on Wednesday. Big week ahead of us guys!
I don’t do second place & neither should anyone else!”
There is something compelling about arriving into Castle Avenue and seeing a ‘Tarf team in their strip taking on opposition. Whether it’s the 1st XV, gangly looking U15s or a Junior Rugby Team. Why is it compelling? Perhaps because of the passion. The ‘Tarf jersey seems to inspire players. Next Saturday will be equally compelling and if you enjoy watching a good ‘Tarf team make your way down to support the J4s.
