For the third game in a row Clontarf suffered the heartbreak of conceding a late score and the result to Cork Con after a manful defensive display in cold wet Temple hill.
Playing into the elements in the first half, Clontarf held the hosts tryless with a diehard defensive performance and went in at half time 6 3 down.
After 63 minutes the with the game balanced on a knife edge Royce Burke Flynn powered over in the thirteen channel to give Clontarf a well-deserved 4 point lead at 6 10 . Unfortunately Con upped their effort in the closing stages and, as the weather worsened, managed to gain a foothold in the Tarf 22 with a series of penalties to the corner; one of which saw Tarf down to 14 men as Cian Culleton saw yellow for a team infringement. As the clock wound down Con kept their composure, kept hold of the ball, and worked a number of phases which resulted in a touchdown for backrow Murphy at the death.
